Through collaboration and a true desire to overcome any obstacle to success, Hunter McCorquodale is now in production with illustrate inc's policy illustration system in both a desktop and web application. Despite a very aggressive schedule, this enormously successful project was put into production on schedule in October 2005--approximately six weeks after the project began.

Hunter McCorquodale Inc. is a leading distributor of special-risk disability and life insurance products. Focused on clients who are not adequately served by the regular insurance market, Hunter McCorquodale has a history of finding innovative and unique solutions to help insurance advisors meet their client's needs. Consequently, when Hunter McCorquodale decided to create both a web and desktop application to collect client information and illustrate insurance products, they naturally wanted an illustration solution that was as flexible as they are.

illustrate inc's component-based illustration system was a natural fit for Hunter McCorquodale's needs. The system's modular design allows for a high degree of customization within very short development cycles. Moreover, the system permits for very specific control and management, providing the administrators with the ability to make modifications and implement controls without retesting the entire system, saving both time and money.

The Project

Hunter McCorquodale wanted a system for policy illustration and on-the-fly  form generation; illustrate inc created this system on both a desktop and web-based platform. In total, the entire project took only six weeks from the initial specifications to production. "We were impressed with the illustrate inc team," commented Ken Hunter, co-Founder of Hunter McCorquodale. "Their commitment to meeting our deadlines was outstanding, and ensured that we would be able to meet our business goals, on our timeline."

illustrate inc's desire to find unique solutions was evident throughout this project. Initially, Hunter McCorquodale intended to deploy their web solution into production using a third-party hosting service. To bring the site online as quickly as possible, illustrate inc offered to host the web application. Subsequently, the application was configured for the third-party host and seamlessly ported to its new location, completing the final phase of the project.
