Insight Newsletter August 2007

Since our last newsletter, the illustrate inc team has accomplished two record setting quarters. We have delivered more implementations in two consecutive quarters than any similar period in our history. That means that we have been working non-stop along with our customers since the beginning of the year. It also means that we had to be pro-active in our recruiting activities to ensure that our resources can meet the demands of our customers. In this last quarter alone, we welcomed five new full time members to our illustrate inc family of which three are Actuarial Analysts and the remaining two are Application Developers.

Earlier in the year, I noted that the majority of our principal clients have taken advantage of the Enterprise Solution package and signed up for a minimum of three years. Thank you for giving us this level of commitment and demonstrating your confidence in illustrate inc. This in turn allows us to make further significant investment in Research and Development activities to improve our product offerings. At this time, we are pleased to announce delivery of an enhanced Ultimate Reporting Suite (Editor, Viewer, and Engine), which some of our clients have already adopted.

For many years, Bermuda Life Insurance Company Limited (Bermuda Life), a member of The Argus Group, the largest Bermuda-owned insurance organization and the leader in group health insurance and pension plans in Bermuda, had been adequately providing quotations for Single Premium Immediate Annuity (SPIA) by outsourcing them to a local consultant. With the advice of then consultant and now full-time Argus Group Actuary, Larry Peck, the company realized that they could offer their customers more value in the pension administration area if they had a more effective tool to provide quotations for SPIAs.

Client Update

Always working ahead to provide clients and producers with the solutions they require, we congratulate The Co-operators on their latest series of accomplishments. Since our last report, The Co-operators has been forging ahead on their Life Illustration projects and has signed off on version 2.23 in September 2006, version 2.30 in January 2007 and version 2.40 just recently this July.

Since illustrate inc assumed all illustration support for CUMIS, we have been working together with CUMIS to implement the illustrate inc life software for all their individual life products.

Over our long-term relationship with Empire Life, we have been fortunate enough to be able to collaborate in a number of unique projects. Most recently, we assisted in the development of Phase 1 of Strategies as part of their Financial and Estate Planning Strategies. This is a stand alone concept engine built on existing engines and business applications.

Along with the Sun Life team, illustrate inc delivered calculation changes to the minimum premiums as well as changes to the ratings.

Developer's Corner

Microsoft Internet Explorer and Windows Vista®

In our last insight newsletter, we informed you that we have been performing quality assurance testing on all of our products within the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (IE7) Environment and Microsoft Windows Vista®. We are happy to report that we have completed our testing on IE7 and no changes to existing illustrate inc solutions were necessary. All of our systems are IE7 friendly.
